JAHI
, originally from
Jahi's style of Hip Hop, at first
glance, could be compared with his peers like Talib
or a Common,or even a KRS-
ONE. But a deeper listen into the insightful, conscious, down to earth flow
fresh with introspection, commentary about the state of the world and Hip Hop,
displays his own uniqueness that shows Jahi's
originality, dept, and
passion for good music and social
justice all at the same time.
During his
worldwide grind, Jahi has shared the same stage with
greats such as Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, The Roots, Public Enemy, Floetry, Talib
Kweli,the legendary Chuck Brown, Missy Elliott, Black Eyed Peas, Outkast, Jay-Z,
and Jaguar Wright to name a few. In addition, JAHI's
live show, with a full band, vocalists, and DJ not only brings his music to
life, but also displays Jahi's style, high
performance energy, and his creative blend of Soul and Hip Hop that is
infectious to any audience whether young or old. Jahi
lives for the live show.
Inspired by soul
artists like Sam and Dave, Barry White, Curtis Mayfield, and the O'Jays, and Hip Hop heroes like Run DMC and Jam
Master Jay, Rakim, and Public
Enemy, Jahi set his goal for his new album, WORD
POWER SOUND, to blend those two musical forces together for what he likes
to call "Soulhop." From the title song
featuring danish singer Susanne Palsobell,
produced by Sweden's Beat Sense Crew, to the first ever Hip Hop tribute song to
James Brown, to the inspirational vibes on
"Music is Life", Jahi continues his 10 year
run of providing thought provoking themes, strong melodies, and an overall feel
good presence. In addition, out of 15, 000 submissions, Jahi's
song "Share It" recently won 2 nd
place in the International Songwriting Contest. (Log
